My Current Equipment

with one comment

My equipment has changed over the years but not as fast as it has the last 5-6 years. Just as the computer industry has upgraded their computers and software so has the camera industry upgraded their cameras and software. I purchased my first DSLR (Nikon D100) back in 2003 but did not upgrade until the Nikon D300 came out. With all the travel I do I have sold the larger lenses and gone to a more compact and versatile lenses. As for camera bags this could go on forever as I’m one of those people who seems to never find a bag to settle on and that’s because there is no perfect bag. So I have several of them for different circumstances. I primarily use two and the present time and are listed in my equipment page. Of course I have a dream list of more equipment to buy but those will come in due time. Click here to see my current equipment.

  1. Monte,
I can’t help but think of the contrasts between our choices of equipment. My most used cameras are film cameras, two Mamiya 645 1000s’s, one for B&W and one for color. And when I get real serious I set my Calumet 4×5 on my Gitzo 505 tripod and attach either the Schneider 150 or 210mm lens. I compose the image in the ground glass with the fewest film and lens plane adjustments that are necessary. I make exposure readings and calculations using a Pentax Spotmeter V light meter and trip the shutter when the subject catches the light that I find pleasing.

Despite the severe differences in our chosen photographic tools, our goal remains the same. My goal, and I’m sure your goal as well, is to produce and share our unique vision of the world that crosses our individual paths for both our pleasure and the pleasure and stimulation of others.

Thanks for sharing as you do and keep trippin’ the shutter Monte!
