Union Street Tavern

We’re on day 2 of our trip and overnighting in Hartford, Connecticut. With bright sunny skies and some extra time on our overnight we agreed to go exploring. The van took us to the older part of Windsor, CT. where we grabbed a bite to eat and acted like tourists, walking the streets. Our late lunch was at a place called the Union Street Tavern. The  tavern is converted from the double-bay Union Street firehouse. I shot this image of the empty bar just as we were leaving.

  1. Nice eye Monte, again seeing what many would walk by.

    • Yes, it’s cool to see this world from a different view. If I slow down, always have my camera with me, then things appear in the view finder that was not there 10 years ago.

  2. Wonderful capture of light and tones. I agree with Don, I believe your developing a fine photographer’s eye.

    • Thanks, Earl. One of the things I like about blogging is seeing what other photographers eyes are seeing as well as mine. That’s a reason I visit your site. And, I’m looking forward to the changes you are going to add.

  3. I like the fact that you always have that camera with you. I love the window light here it makes the wood of the chairs very lovely.
